点评：I first popped into the Tipsy Toad back during Heaton Pride. Pubs can sometimes be a bit intimidating to walk into for the first time, especially as a trans woman, but the atmosphere here was instantly brilliant. It was packed, but the staff were so friendly and made a point of making everyone feel comfortable.
I have been back a few times since then, just on normal weeknights and weekend afternoons. Sometimes venues talk a big game for Pride but forget about you the rest of the year. Not here. The owner, Darrin, and the rest of the bar staff are just really decent, welcoming people. They remember your face, have a bit of a laugh with you, and pull a cracking pint.
They have a great selection of craft beers in the fridge and on tap, and the pub itself is just a proper, relaxed spot where you can actually sit and have a chat. And there's cask now! Not my thing but the last review seemed to think that was a sin against mankind so like. Just ignore them.
It is really hard to find a local where you feel completely safe and at ease right away. I am so glad I found this place. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great drink and a genuinely inclusive crowd.
