点评：We custom-made our 12-day itinerary with my agent in the U.S. and Morocco Imperial Tours. Normally, I plan my own travel itineraries based on research, conversations with friends who have visited, and reading various reviews and recommendations online. However, because we wanted to visit as many places and cities as possible and had specific ideas of what we want to do, I decided it would be best to work with an agent. I’m so glad I did—they helped put together a custom itinerary based on our interests and requests, and arranged a dedicated driver and local guides.
At the start of our trip, our first flight to Newark was delayed due to bad weather, causing us to miss our connecting flight to Marrakesh. I emailed Youssef at Morocco Imperial Tours, and he quickly modified our itinerary and activities in Marrakesh accordingly, which we really appreciated!
Our driver, Mohamed, was fantastic—attentive to details, punctual, reliable, kind, and multilingual! We truly enjoyed our conversations with him during the drives. We were also very happy with every tour guide they arranged in each city. We tend to ask a lot of questions, and each guide was knowledgeable, flexible, and still kept us on track.
We weren’t entirely sure what to expect, especially since our trip took place shortly after the conflict involving Iran began and during Ramadan. However, we are so glad we visited Morocco—it is an amazing country, amazing nature. We learned so much from local people about how we can coexist despite differences in faith and background.
If you are American, we highly recommend visiting the American Legation in Tangier (note: you can visit on your own, and the exhibits are in English). I don’t think many Americans are aware of the long history and relationship between the U.S. and Morocco.
