Outstanding tour of the Highlands!

点评：I cannot recommend the Highland Tour Company highly enough! We booked a one-day Highland custom tour and got a taste of everything the region has to offer—rich history, delicious whisky, kind people, and breath-taking landscapes. Our guide was Lewis, an incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and hospitality-minded Inverness local. We departed the tour with a deep knowledge of Scottish history, including the Jacobite rebellion, an era incredibly important to the fabric (tartan pun, intended) of Scottish life and pride. We worked with Lewis’s father Iain for a few weeks leading up to our tour, and he crafted an itinerary that hit everything on our list. To be honest, I thought the first itinerary he proposed was “too history-focused,” but I cannot stress enough how important these stops were to understanding the Highlands. I’m very grateful for Iain and Lewis’s guidance to ensure that the tour was entertaining and educational. The tour was well-balanced, we kept to time, never felt bored, and shared many laughs. Lewis also helped us find a very specific whisky we were on the hunt for—now we are headed home with an amazing souvenir.
We also greatly appreciated the tour company’s efforts to promote conscious/sustainable tourism through their use of local businesses, their PHEV, and work to plant trees in the area for each tour group.
Lastly, I want to mention that Lewis is a terrific driver. I always manage to get car sick on tours, and I did not feel ill once, despite the wind roads. The vehicle is also pristine and comfortable.
The tour had a higher price point than most, but the value cannot be matched. Seeing loads of Timberbush coach buses and guides sticking firmly to a schedule really drove home this point for us.
