Fantastic trip with friends to Smith Island

点评：I first heard about the "Experience Smith Island" small boat excursion after meeting Capt. Everett at a boat show at Kent Island, MD. It was clear his tour would be much different and more personal than one of those ferry boat rides that take you to Ewell and dump you off for a few hours and then just turn around and come back. I rounded up some friends and booked Capt. Everett's trip and we all so enjoyed it! He and his wife, Carole Ann, both go back several generations on Smith Island, so their knowledge is personal and intimate, and their love of Smith Island is deep. The unique part of this excursion that we really loved was that we were hearing from authentic people with deep historical and first-hand knowledge of Smith Island and seeing all three communities of Smith Island, instead of just the main town. Stopping at all three gives you a better overview of the entirety of Smith Island and also helps you understand the place. Out on the water, we saw Carole Ann's brother actually working his crab boat, then we docked at Capt Everett's father's place for a live crab demonstration, and his mother gave us a Smith Island cake demo in her own kitchen. Doesn't get much more personal than that! We highly recommend this tour. Capt. Everett and Carole Ann are thoughtful, articulate, and in love with Smith Island. This is a fantastic trip.
