点评:It was scary yet exhilarating. At first, I walked closer to the railing - just in case - as if that would have helped if the glass had cracked and given way all of a sudden. Hahaha.
To me, it was something like a walk of faith…you need courage to step forward, and to just keep going. Soon you will start to get the hang of things. You start to relax. You begin to look around and admire the gorgeous views…from a dizzying height, even as the sun burns down on you.
It’s very empowering. You feel bold and brave. Then you gasp and your heart skips a beat as you proceed to giggle a little when the speakers release audio of glass breaking. Just to freak you out.
(By the way, I later realised that I had had some “practice” because just a couple of weeks before in November, I had treaded on the small glass platform at Galeries Lafayette, Paris, France, and unbeknownst to me back then, in comparison to this glass bridge in Bali, that was actually a walk in a park. But it was good practice, I guess.)
There’s a swing at the end of the glass bridge for some “Instagrammable” photos to be taken. After strapping on a safety belt, staff will help push you out on the swing and take photos as well as videos of you, should you be so inclined. (I did it just for the “experience”, and not for Instagram.)
There wasn’t enough time to try the other attractions (apparently the rainbow slide is the other popular one). Others were waiting for me because in the end, I was the only one who decided to give this glass bridge a try. I’m glad I did.
So, yes, if you are not afraid of heights and if you have not tried something similar elsewhere, just go for it!
