Hillsborough Castle and Gardens的点评
点评：An excellent experience from start to finish. Thankfully when you book tickets on line the advice is to allow 45 minutes from car park to castle. We arrived at the visitor centre and thought we’d arrived so had a look around the shop, it only when we got our tickets scanned they told us we wouldn’t have time to walk from the centre to the castle. They were very helpful in getting us a minibus which took us straight to the castle steps. The tour of the castle consists of visiting a number of the ground floor rooms, with the guide providing sufficient information without overloading you with details, you were then given time to explore each room. Next we visited the small exhibition on the history of royal women’s clothing, design and the designers.
Interesting as the tour was, the real highlight for us were the gardens, the lake, the walled garden etc. Having explored the gardens we then had a very good lunch back in the visitor centre, the food was well presented, tasty and reasonably priced.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the castle and grounds are very well maintained.
I would definitely recommend visiting Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.
