Geraldine Military Museum的点评
点评：Recently visited the Geraldine Military Museum in South Canterbury, was very impressed by the professionalism & variety of the displays. Covering 20th Century through to present day with emphasis on ANZAC subjects, plus pleasantly surprised to see some neat US in Vietnam & WW2 German vignettes.
Team members Deb & Don were on duty, both couldn’t be more helpful. They said displays are regularly changed out, for example, while I was there they were working on a sandbagged sangar in the foyer, which was to double as a new reception area.
The small entry fee was worth every cent, although I was only able to spend a short time there it deserves taking a couple of hours to study all exhibits, along with the useful library section too. Would be neat in future to see books & other memorabilia available too. I know I will be back, not sure when, however took lots of photos for reference & to share with others to see what’s on offer.
Recommend a good day trip if you live in Canterbury, or if you’re passing through do stop in & check it out.
