点评：The East Gippsland Winter Festival is a month-long wonderland of magic. Picture glowing giant lanterns, gourmet long-table feasts perched high on historical train bridges, and locals taking icy solstice swims. It's a cozy, fire-lit carnival of art, culture, and steamy hot springs across the lakes.
The Gardens of the Galaxy Light Display in Lakes Entrance was a dazzling, illuminated wonderland where the foreshore transformed into an out-of-this-world dreamscape. Picture larger-than-life glowing lanterns, dancing astronauts, captivating cosmic critters, and the delightfully mischievous local Sea Hags frolicking among vibrant, rainbow-coloured lights, soundscapes, and projection art.
We rugged up like Michelin Men - and waddled around Lakes on the cold winter evening that it was. To our delight some stores opened late - there was a range of food vans as well as local eateries available - it was all about choice.
The lines were long, but they moved quickly across the bridge. Everyone was tittering to one another as they enjoyed the displays before us... it was difficult not to trip over excited children... but lovely to hear their joy as they ran from one light display to the next.
It's about reclaiming your inner child- reclaim joy, spontaneity, and creativity. There is something special about being part of the event.
