圣史蒂芬大教堂（Szent Istvan Bazilika）的点评
点评：It is important to note that you must buy the tickets before you can go into the basilica and the ticket office can be found to the right of the front facade of the church. The ticket office is pretty efficient and there are two separate lines - One for people who bought online and one for people who need to buy. There is a separate ticket for the church hall and the panoramic terrace and treasury but we got the combination ticket which was 6200 HUF when we visited.
After buying the ticket we went to the elevator to get near the top of the basilica and there was a short line for this. There is a smaller elevator that can take you to the panoramic terrace but the stairs going up were not too bad and was quicker than taking the second elevator. St. Stephen's Basilica is one of the tallest structures on this side of the Danube and gives great unobstructed views of the surrounding area and we felt this was worth the ticket price on its own. The treasury was interesting too with some artifacts from the church and a replica of the Hungarian crown. We also enjoyed seeing some of the hidden architecture of the dome and vaulted ceilings in this area.
The Church Hall is magnificent and is highly decorated everywhere you look. You can see the mummified right hand of St. Stephen in its reliquary. The ceiling especially around the alter are spectacular and we spent a lot of time looking up so we would recommend grabbing a seat in the pews so you don't run into anyone. We spent just over an hour inside the church between the hall, museum and terrace.
The church is located in the heart of Budapest and is surrounded by many popular restaurants and is a short walk away from other key attractions of Budapest. We would recommend a very good pair of shoes because there is lots to see while walking around Budapest and it is very easy to explore by foot.
