布达城堡的点评
点评：Buda Castle can be considered by some to be the entirety of the Buda Castle district including Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church, Mary Magdalen Church, etc. and all the streets and terraces. I took it to mean the main palace complex to the left of Fisherman's Bastion. Walking through the area is mostly free but the main sights and museums do incur charges.
While dating from the 13th century most of the buildings were rebuilt in the 18th century in the Baroque style only to be extensively damaged during WWII. Hungary is working through the reconstruction of the site with multiple buildings (such as Archduke Joseph's Palace), gardens and terraces being rebuilt. Most of the buildings are not yet open though the gardens and statues are slowly becoming accessible. The two outstanding buildings of the palace complex which you can enter are the Budapesti Torteneti Muzeum (Budapest History Museum Castle Museum) and The National Gallery and the terraces between them.
