点评:A "MUST SEE" while in Krakow via scenic tour via Rick Steves! The Wawel Cathedral in Krakow is a powerful pilgrimage site. Not allowed to take photos are allowed inside the cathedral. Still beautiful sight to see from the outside. October is the month of the Rosary because Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated on the 7th, a feast established by Pope Pius V! Numerous Popes, including the current Pope, have encouraged the recitation of the rosary. Among them, Pope Saint John Paul II. St. Pope John Paul II feast day is just around the corner on October 22 as well! I’m so thrilled to be writing to you on this feast of Saint John Paul II. From the time I was born and up through college, Pope John Paul II was the only pope I knew. Looking back, he was the reason I started to have a love for the Rosary. And since October is the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary, having his feast day fall during it is an appropriate way to honor him. If you struggle with praying the rosary, ask for the intercession of Pope St. John Paul II to help you do it well and meditate fruitfully on its mysteries. Pray for me also that I will not stop finding Jesus in my daily walks of life. Tell Jesus I love HIM and need him to always remind me of my faith and my obedience and devotedness to my spiritual duties each day.
Pope St. John Paul II, pray for us! He spent part of his life eating simple, modest and frugal food. He loved traditional Polish cuisine, from pierogi to delicious paczki and the famous kremowka, later called Kremówka Papieska. Found the closest Polish pastry that had looked like a danish. They are tasty and traditional Polish pastries filled with sweet fruit filling Polish kołaczki are also technically ‘little wheels’ though they most often start as squares and do not appear round. Have you ever tasted the simple yet appetizing spaghetti aglio olio? Spaghetti aglio e olio originated in Naples in the Campania region as a simple "poor man's cuisine" dish made with just garlic, olive oil and pasta. Aglio e olio began as a poverty dish. This is the reason why I went to Krakow via Rick Steves, was for me to get closer to St John Paul II. Also, I recently received a very special gift from my parish: a beautiful rose rosary blessed by Pope Saint John Paul II. These blessings, bestowed by the Holy Father, the Pope, represent a sacred connection between the shepherd of the universal church and the faithful. They serve as a bridge of grace and divine favor. I’m truly grateful for this meaningful gift. I will keep it close and use it in my prayers for my family, our community, and everyone who needs God’s guidance and protection. This endorsement fortified my endeavors, leading to a spiritual renewal that reverberated throughout the community. This Papal Saint blessed rosary carries the weight of centuries of faith and tradition. This symbolic act represents a tangible connection to the Bible, echoing the life and teachings of Jesus. It offers Catholics and friends a sense of reassurance, an affirmation that they are part of an unbroken chain of faith that began over two millennia ago.
For pilgrims to Rome, the opportunity to receive a papal blessing is not just a hallmark of their journey, but a deep spiritual reassurance. This blessing underscores the unity of Catholicism, linking believers, irrespective of geographical or cultural differences, in a communal embrace of faith. It’s a reminder that the Catholic Church is a living, breathing body, continually nourished by sacramental grace and divine intervention of spiritual nourishment in healing. As we traverse this life, let the knowledge and reverence for papal blessings inspire our journey. May we open our hearts to the miracles of faith, ever guided by the wisdom of saints and holy intercessions. For in each blessing, we find an echo of God’s love, a whisper of heaven’s promise, and a call to live fully as members of the Catholic Church. In a world constantly evolving, the timeless truth of Papal Saint blessings remains a beacon of hope and faith for millions. It’s worth a visit even though it’s a epilgrimage.
