Responsive company, but don’t provide T-shirt for souvenir

点评：Two of us booked a private hiking tour to climb Mt Kinabalu and do the Via Ferrata via this company. Their response via WhatsApp is pretty good. Prices are fairly competitive. Pick up from hotel was prompt, and the guide was already waiting for us at the registration office when we arrived. The guide took good care of my friend during this hike. The guide also helped to carry my friend’s backpack on the way down back to the gate.
Two negatives: 1) you may want to look for other company that offers same package that give out free T shirt that have Mt Kinabalu trail and height printed on it. We have seen many wearing free T-shirts provided by the hiking company, which makes a good souvenir. We spoken to them and their tour company also provided good service
2) I think this is the culture in Mt Kinabalu. The guide actually did not start the hike with us and ask us to go ahead on our own saying he will catch up later from the gate. Same thing happened after we had a lunch break at the 4km mark and on the day of descent from our accommodation. We saw this happening to other groups as well, and hence suspect this is the culture here. Unlike our hike in Mt Kilimanjaro and Nepal, our guide never leaves us alone at all time.
