点评：The National Gallery in Ljubljana is a truly outstanding museum and an absolute joy to visit. Located right in the city centre, it is both easy to access and wonderfully designed. We visited on Culture Day, so it was understandably busy, yet the gallery never once felt crowded. Thanks to its thoughtful layout, the space remains calm, airy, and beautifully balanced.
The building itself is stunning, with a seamless blend of the original historic structure and a large, light-filled modern exhibition space. This combination enhances the experience rather than distracting from it, allowing the art to breathe and be appreciated fully.
The staff are visible throughout the gallery, consistently helpful, and clearly very knowledgeable. Practical details are also well considered: free lockers and cloakroom facilities, clean bathrooms, and excellent signage all make for a relaxed and comfortable visit.
The exhibitions are accessible, diverse, and beautifully curated across multiple mediums. You could easily spend an entire day here, fully immersed. The QR codes beside key exhibits are a particularly nice touch, adding depth and context that genuinely enhances the experience.
