Lift tickets purchase when not needed

点评：I booked a beginner snowboard lesson for my two teenage daughters at Brian Head Resort and unfortunately left feeling very disappointed with the experience.
The class took place on February 13, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM and was booked online. Two days before the lesson I received a call from a coordinator regarding lift tickets, which I was told would not be necessary because the class would not be using the lifts. I tried calling back several times to clarify, but I was never able to reach a live person or leave a message because the voicemail box was full.
On the day of the lesson we arrived about an hour early to understand how everything worked, but we were told we still had to purchase lift tickets. Since it was the same day, we had to pay the full price, which came out to about $250 for both tickets.
While the lesson was in progress, I spoke with another instructor who mentioned that we could have purchased “magic carpet” tickets instead, which only cost around $30–$35 per person and are typically used for beginner lessons. When I later tried to request a refund for the lift tickets we didn’t actually need, I was told that there were no refunds and that nothing could be done.
The following week we returned for another lesson. This time I purchased lift tickets online in advance and exchanged them for season passes. Unfortunately, my older daughter injured her knee shortly afterward and was only able to use the pass for one day.
My biggest concern with the entire experience is that we were required to purchase full-price lift tickets even though the class did not use the lifts, and in fact the lifts close at 4:00 PM, right when the lesson ended. I believe this situation could have been handled much more transparently and fairly.
