点评：Our first stop in Budapest was the Central Market Hall because it had been recommended by a friend and was centrally located. The building itself is large and made of decorated brick and ironwork and glass. It has three floors. We entered on the ground floor which has shops all across and then went up to the first floor which has shops along the sides then down to the more run-down basement floor. There are very few places to sit and it is quite crowded.

The first floor has some amazing but expensive takeaway food options as well as many souvenir shops with chessboards, Christmas ornaments, embroidery, soaps, etc. We ended up doing most of our (quite limited) gift shopping here. The ground floor has various groceries: fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, spices (lots of paprika), sweets and drinks, bakery goods. The basement floor has wild meat, pickles (including the pickled onions with faces), steak, household supplies, some more souvenirs as well as an Aldi. Very touristy but worthwhile visiting.
