点评：A tour of Congress Hall should be included if you are visiting Independence Hall. It is located adjacent and is of great historical significance. Congress Hall was home to the U.S. Congress from 1790 to 1800, when Philadelphia served as the temporary capital of the United States. The House of Representatives met on the first floor and the Senate Chamber was upstairs. It opens at 9am and for the first hour, it can be visited without a tour. Beginning at 10am, tours are offered every 20 minutes. Free entry and no advanced tickets are needed or available. A park ranger will give a talk on the first floor after entering and then you are free to explore the upstairs on your own but rangers are available to answer questions. This turned out to be the highlight of my visit to Independence National Historical Site as Independence Hall was sadly closed for renovations. However, it should not be missed even if you get a chance to tour the inside of Independence Hall when you are visiting.
