点评：We were picked up by our guide (Solomon) at our hotel in Semera and went straight to the first Ertale. Throughout the trip Solomon proved his experience as a driver and guide. He showed us the most beautiful spots in the Danakil depression and involved us in deciding where to go and when to leave. The accommodations in open tents were fantastic. The first night, however, was very windy. The second night we spent at simple campsites, but that was also the attraction. Staying surrounded by mountains and rivers is just great. Make sure to bring warm clothes, a flashlight and a power bank. You can charge your phone a lot, but it's nice to be able to do that in the tent if necessary.
Don’t worry about the quality or amount of food, because there is plenty to eat at every meal. The chef prepared excellent dishes throughout the day.
The absolute highlight of this trip were the salt lakes – just incredible! There were so many, and Solomon made sure we saw every one of them. You noticed his experience as a guide, how he communicated with the others by radio and tracked down every hiding place of the animals. It was an incredibly exciting day!
Overall, this was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, and I highly recommend a trip to the Danakil depression with Aman Ethiopia Tours. They really are the best. I could talk about this journey for hours, but I'd rather let my pictures speak for themselves.
