点评:Our last day of Eastern Europe Trip begins with the visit to the large Castle. For the record Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site consists of a large-scale composition of palaces and other buildings, all of various architectural styles that varies from the Romanesque-style to the later Gothic modifications of the 14th century.
Perched on a hill across the river from the Old Town some of the exterior areas with the castle compound are for free but one has to pay for access to the cathedral, the old palace, St. George's Basilica and the Tower. The Local guide did a wonderful job in explaining the art, architecture and history of the various bldg. as we moved along within the expansive area.! And definitely there were many visiting locals and tourists too.
We were also told Czech leaders have ruled from here for more than a thousand years, including the present Leaders! .
We even visited on of the small chapel within the premise that was said to have just opened to public since many many years of closure..
Left with an impressive impression.
