Northern Lights with Northbound

点评：Have just been to Tromso again,I really like the city especially when the snow is falling..We decided to do another Northern Lights tour with Northbound as I heard the sun solar flares were very active in 2025.
Northbound exceeded the experience we had last time,which was already better than the other tour guides we used 2 years ago...
They picked us up in town promptly and the SUV was warm and spacious.Although the clouds looked like spoiling the experience Oly had a plan of where to go.He uses some type of space weather map and probably a lot of his local knowledge,and we only had to drive for 1 hour to a beautiful beach. The fire and food were quickly assembled and we waited anxiously for the show..It was awesome...Such a display of dancing colours right over our heads.Oly had already set up his cameras so was able to catch the show and positioned us to get the perfect family photo beneath the spectacle.
Although we were dressed warmly,we were offered extra clothing and hot chocolate drinks and sausage rolls.They had meat and vegetarian options so everyone was happy.
We stayed for 3 hours and never felt rushed by Oly. He was very knowledgeable about the science behind how the lights work and seemed to know every star constellation we were looking at.
We were fortunate to see the lights within a short drive which meant we finished the tour earlier than I expected which was good as our grandson was getting tired and a bit cold.Oly offered to drive to another location but we had seen a great display and were happy to call it a night. He dropped us back to our apartment and refused a tip,which is always a good sign. However I will be sending him some UK goodies that he cant buy in Tromso.
Overall we felt safe travelling in very snowy conditions,as the guys take safety very seriously.We were well fed and learnt so much. It was the highlight of the trip.
