点评:Wilanów. Overall, I’m a bit disappointed. Having never been to this palace before, I suppose I expected a bit more. The palace is beautiful from the outside, but inside there is very little light—as if someone was afraid to properly highlight these precious historical exhibits, or was trying to save on electricity. The gardens close to the palace are lovely, but a bit further out, everything is rather neglected.
The biggest shock, however, came at the entrance. I had a small daypack with me (just a bottle of water and a small pack of tissues). The security guard checking tickets simply refused to let me in and sent me outside to the back of the building, where some luggage storage was located!
When I asked why she had just let in a woman with a massive shoulder bag right before me—HUGE!... three times bigger than my backpack—her explanation was laughable, to say the least: “Because that’s a BAG… and you have a BACKPACK!” A complete paradox! That person could really use some training if her only criterion is bag vs. backpack, rather than actual size!
