点评:We visited Warsaw in November, poignantly the month of Remembrance for the fallen, who laid down their lives in defence of their nations. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a solemn memorial to Polish soldiers dating back to 972 AD. More recent conflicts include the theatres of battle during WWII as allied forces against the Axis powers.
The memorial is guarded by two soldiers stood to attention on either side of the eternal flame. They break position periodically to slow march around the tomb area. We arrived shortly after the changing of the guard, so if you time your visit you will witness a wonderful demonstration of formal ceremonial military drill. However, please be respectful to the solemnity and dignity of the proceedings and purpose of this landmark.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.
