Les Grands Bains d'Hérémence的点评
点评：We ve discovered this place after some annoying visits in other spas in Valais. Me, after B. D. S which was my worst ever experience in a Spa, smile smile smile , i ve promised myself never to set foot in any other similar place. Still, about Heremence, i ve known a bit about this Project as, some 4 years before me and French entered their
construction site,(i know, it s forbidden, but i was so curious) and, since it was opened, i ve seen their architect plans in one of the rooms, i found them Fascinating, since my dad was an architect too, it seemed like a pharaonic Project, just like the one in Aminona, it took them 13 years to finish it, they ve played '' ping pong' 'untill the actual owner(a smart immobiliar developer in
Valais) took control and invested some millions in this project, made a deal with the Comune of St Martin, and for the next years, he will pay a small amount per year, if i m correct , for some 250 000 cube meters of warm water, taken from Combioule source from the valley floor below the pyramids. Little do we know Combioulaz is one of the most significant hot water sources in Switzerland, with about 81 springs at temperatures of 25 to 29°C at 600 m, and up to 53 degrees at 1000.m
water which heats up naturally, and rises quickly back to the surface.
As the water travels underground, it collects rich minerals, salts, and a light touch of sulfur, thus according to the geothermal research department at Neuchâtel, of all the known thermal waters in the Swiss alps, the waters of Combioule together with those of the wells of Pro San Gian at St-Moritz, are the most rich in sulphates, chlorides, magnesium et sodium.... No wonder we slept like babies the nights that followed our two days visit in Hermetence.
Here is a small insight:the place is huge,bright, beautiful, clean, the view over Dent Blanche is one of the most stunning one I ve seen in my life. think:you are at 1800 m,there is space for everyone,especially that the Spa is structured on 3 levels :one for the pools (indoor and outdoor, both with jacuzzi ) and restaurant, second :my favorite for saunas, i ve counted 4, but maybe i m wrong, a quiet room, where you can watch the view in silence, and where i did not expect too much to be honest, as this is Valais, the concept of silence is not familiar to people,especially in The spas, but guess what:it is so quiet that you can even take a nap or read, i could even hear my thoughts. This second level has a nice Terrace, 2 free Tea Rooms,and even a gym that can be used for 10 sfr extra. A, by the way Reception desk offers an extra quiet room, to me it looked like more like the living room of a chalet, nicely decorated and with a long wood table , where they sell white fluffy towels at 15 sfr(you can keep the tower, which is salutary) , and beautiful swimming costumes at 50 sfr, and 30 sfr for men, still they do not offer Bathrobes nor flippets, and my advice is to get one with you, as the Restaurant has strict rules, you can only acces the Terrace to eat, and not the Restaurant, if you don t wear a bathrobe, which i find normal. Also take in consideration that this Spa has Zero tolerance to nudity. Smile smile smile. The personal is present, but they know how to make you feel welcomed, there are some simple rules to follow, and people who come here usually respect these rules. I personally did not like the '' tender moments'' of some couples in the Swimming pool, when everyone could see, especially the people in The upper floor, where the saunas are located, i found these gestures were primitive and... inappropriate.By the way, most of the people in The Spa during the weekend(we needed 2 days to really enjoy the Spa and its amneties) were couples, also Saturday was more relaxing,in The morning we were alone, Sunday the place became a bit crowded, still after 3 pm, people started to leave, and take into consideration that minors under 16 years old are allowed only on the first floor, in the Restaurant , and not up. Payments in Restaurant are made only by TWINT or Card, they do not accept cash, you should know that. There are no extras, no hidden fees, there is 'still' free covered parking in the basement, and the lockers for clothes do not have that annoying System with coins.... You pay for what you get:daily entry 50 sfr, yearly subscription 1000 sfr, and 900 sfr for people who live in the area:a good reason to buy a house here. The depth of the 2 swimming pools is 1,35 m, and water is soup warm and very clean:no hair, plus the personal takes water samples each 4 hours. On the 3 rd level you have the massage area, but for the moment nor myself nor French did not get to the 3 rd floor. The only thing that could improve, i was really hoping to find some smoothies,shakes, something more healthy,maybe not so many carbs, or a warm soup, with wild salmon on top and some herbes, still we ve appreciated the generos portions of food at decent prices(we ve payed less than 70 sfr for 2 persons, which was fair) . In time the concept of spa and natural retreat will improve, i m sure, we all learn, both we the guests and also the gerants of this place. Question:is this the Best Spa in Europe, as the owner stated not long ago, from my stand point, considering the value of money and what it offers, and compared to some places i ve visited, like Bad Hamburg,Taunus Therme, Cinq Mondes in Crans ,Garden Eden in Dietzenbach-My favorite , Claudius Therme, Titus Therme Koln,Tropical islands, close to Berlin, Therme in Bucharest, and some Spas in Taormina and Palermo,Budapesta and 5 star hotels in Crans Montana, the answer is :yes, for the moment this place is my best choice. And what makes it so special are the people, as they give you that vacay vibe and also the personal of this place as you feel welcomed and safe, which is for me The best feeling ever in this Temple of Western Civilisation in Swiss Alpes. Also, i ve totally appreciated the fact that you do not have that feeling that you are robbed, as it sometimes happends with their annoying '' extras'', or fully charged bookings that you cannot cancel 48 h prior to the appointment, and, in some cases you pay for.... nothing as it happened to me recently in a famous french Spa(cinq mondes) , with no view at all over the Mountains, in Crans Montana, where, after I ve payed for my Monthly subscription, they did not even bother to open the door once during the 30 days.
