Fascinating, in-depth living museum
Hancock Shaker Village的点评
点评:I really love visiting living villages, as they provide a really fascinating and thorough perspective into 18th-century life. We took the whole day to explore this village, and I still feel like there was more to see. I didn't know much about Shakers prior to visiting, but got to learn a lot about their lives and religion. The Round Stone Barn is iconic and is apparently one the last remaining barns of its kind in Massachusetts, so it's worth visiting the village for the barn alone. I also loved wandering through the gardens and meeting some of the livestock (the cows and sheep were super friendly). Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they give regular presentations on various aspects of Shaker life. I saw that they have miles of hiking trails here and a lot of workshops, so I might come back. They also have goat yoga
