点评:When you don't quite want a full length Japanese tea ceremony but still want something extra besides just silently trying out different tea brews, Navi café in Nara is the place to go.
This place gets a full score because
- The host explained well about the brewing process of different tea, from Sencha to roasted tea to Wakoucha, while you also could smell the aroma of the dried product.
- The serving room is a small bar but without feeling too tiny, furnished inspired by the old style japanese housing. We were not required to sit on the floor but did take off our shoes - a balanced compromise between modern and old
- The host had great hospitality and showed interest in our journey and experience of Japan thus far -- Which is also an essential part of the tea drinking experience. We could converse in English without issue and he even taught us some more Japanese, plus some recommendations for places to visit next
- The sweets served during the tea tasting were unique and our experience in general was also made personal and unique
- We did not feel we payed too much for the tea tasting (maybe even too little?).
