The air train took forever tonight

点评：We believe in public transportation. On our way back from Canada we began a long journey from Newark airport out to a town on the east end of Long Island. It takes an a train to the Newark train station to Penn Station to the Long Island Railroad to Ronkonkoma to where our car is waiting and then a 45 minute drive to our town. The air train is always very simple, but tonight it was extraordinarily slow in arriving. There was quite a buildup of travelers waiting for the air train and we were planning on taking the 8:40 train out of the Newark train station to Penn station. The wait was so long for the air train that we and a large group of people missed the 8:40, and on a Sunday night have to wait for the 9:23 train.
Who knows what impact that this will have on our train options on the Long Island Railroad. By the way, as we were waiting for our air train, three air trains arrived across the platform, heading in the opposite direction.
An air train innovation might be updates on where the perspective air train is in its travels. One of the interesting things about ordering an Uber is that One gets to watch the car cover the route to where you will be picked up. Our collective frustration at the air train station might have been eased a bit if we knew what was going on.
Our trip is a long one home and it will surely be compounded by or wait for the air train.
