The animals are beautiful but the place needs more transparency and some changes.

点评：Haven't been here for 20 years but saw the £5 Friday offer so decided to go and visit as it seemed very good value compared to the regular price.
The place has changed but I seem to remember there were bats and spiders and more reptiles etc before, there's only a very small selection now.
I have to say as much as I appreciated how beautiful the birds of prey were and would never normally get to see them, we felt very sad at the lack of space they have. They have huge wingspans and can live many years, imagine being kept in a small space without the opportunity to fly. The information sheets didn't explain why they were there, are they there because they had been injured or rescued and can't be put back in the wild or are they there simply for profit. If it's the latter then I feel so bad although I don't doubt they are cared for.
The place looks clean enough apart from the mixed toilets which were not very nice.
I did get to see Alf the tapir which was fantastic but again, is he there just for profit or because he's being looked after for some other reason? I wish the farm would make these things more transparent so visitors could make an informed decision about buying tickets.
The outdoor farm animals have lots of space and all seem well cared for, I'm not sure how regulated their food intake is however, visitors are encouraged to buy bags of food so they are constantly being fed and run up to the fences as soon as they see someone.
We didn't eat there so I can't comment on the facilities but there seemed to be a fair few places to eat and drink.
Finally we walked through the gift shop and I was shocked to find that they are selling exotic and more unusual types of animal meat which included horse, kangaroo and ostrich. I'm not a meat eater personally but I don't have a problem with those that do generally. However, given the fact that this is a place that should by it's nature love animals and celebrate them plus encourages children to come and learn about them, then why would this be your lasting memory on the way out?! I found this to be quite sickening. We can't pretend we don't know where meat comes from but personally I found this very odd.
I think I would enjoy the place more if I thought the animals were there because they are being protected but there just wasn't enough information available. I think the birds need much more space, it's not like they are short of land to make this happen and maybe a meat alternative environment would be the way forward given the nature of the place.

農場裏的動物們都有充裕的活動空間，看起來也都被照顧得很好；不過我不太清楚它們的飲食是否受到嚴格管控。建议游客购买袋装食物，这样这些动物就能持续获得食物；它们一看到有人就会跑到围栏边来。

最后我们逛了礼品店，令我震惊的是，店里竟然出售各种珍稀且不常见的动物肉，包括马肉、袋鼠肉和鸵鸟肉。就我个人而言并不吃肉，但一般来说我也不反对那些吃肉的人。不过，这里本应是一个热爱动物、赞美动物，还鼓励孩子们来了解动物的地方，那为什么这竟然会成为人们离开时的深刻印象呢？！我觉得这相当令人作呕。我们没法装作不知道肉类的来源，但就我个人而言，我觉得这种做法很奇怪。我觉得，如果我知道那些动物之所以在那里是因为它们得到了保护，我会更喜欢这个地方。但遗憾的是，关于这一点的信息实在太少。我认为这些鸟类需要更大的活动空间；其实这里并不缺土地来实现这一点。考虑到这个地方的特性，或许打造一个以替代性肉类产品为主的生态环境才是更好的选择。
