点评:It's a short drive from the hotel (20 miles), and well worth the drive. Views of the river and Lake Ontario. There are bath rooms , gift shop and museum. You can go on the guided tour or just wander if you are up on history and don't need the guide. There is a resident "French soldier" and a musket firing soldier. He fires every hour on the hour (keep your pets far away if they do not like loud noises. The musket boom reverberates around the fort. We took bench beside the snack bar and our Border Collie was only a little afraid. We went early in the morning and pretty much had it to ourselves. Around noon the crowd was starting, but not a bother. Make sure you keep your parking ticket with you, you will need it for entrance to the fort. Staff was awesome, very helpful. Parking fee and tour ticket was reasonable. I'm a history nerd and loved the experience, We stayed about 2 1/2 hours and then drove the coast of Lake Ontario (can see Toronto for here on a clear day) visiting the small towns and wineries. Had such on the way back at Hilltop Restaurant (great food!). Also drop in on Ann and Martin at the Schulze Winery. We made friends very quickly.
