点评:A family run farm and tourist attraction based in beautiful South Yorkshire. I have visited CHF several times this year alone. I have also tried several of their animal experiences which you can book at an extra cost but does include farm entry. I have tried the shire horse experience and the lamb feeding experience, both of which I 100% recommend. All of the animals are cared for at the highest possible level. All the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. CHF are part of the Shire Horse Conservation programme. They have a variety of spices from the ant colonies right up to the stunning shire horses.
There are also picnic areas, indoor and outdoor play areas, a gift shop, the white bull restaurant and other dining areas and the wonderful farm shop.
Dogs are not permitted into the farm area itself but there is the Lucky pup restaurant outside the farm entrance where dogs are more than welcome and even have their own dog friendly menu. Once again there is both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The food on offer all over the farm is top quality and very reasonably priced.
Cannon Hall Farm first opened to the public in 1989 when Mrs Nicholson’s famous scones saved the farm. The history behind the farm is fascinating. There are books telling you the stories over the years and recently Richard Nicolson (one of the three farming brothers) bought out his own cookbook (Richard Nicolson’s cookbook) full over good hearty food amongst some farming tales. The book is available to buy at the shop or online via CHF website, Amazon etc.
This down to earth family continue to work hard to offer a wonderful experience for everyone who visits whilst keeping the farm going for future generations to come.
