点评：Just back from the resort of Sestriere and whilst the snow is amazing and plentiful, the resort itself is over priced and underdeveloped.
Prices are high, 11 euro for a beer (less than a pint), 9 euro for a miserly poured glass of wine. I am not expecting cheap but reasonable and Sestriere is certainly unreasonable, not to mention the public toilets that charge to use, but it's cash only and who carries coins in their ski gear.
Food on the mountain is not good and overpriced, expect to pay around 50 euro for 2 persons for lunch , again mediocre at best.
The chairlifts are antiquated and regularly stop, the gondola looks and feels ancient too, and worst of all is there are no direct resort linking busses... for example, a taxi to Sauze D'Oulx costs 80 euro one way for an 11 KM journey.
Ski school is a total rip off, they had 2 instructors for 22 people of multiple skill levels so some of us found ourselves with much less skilled people, it was demoralizing, waste of time and money. Having said that, the instructors themselves are wonderful but company greed meant they are not supported, hence the terrible experience.
The whole resort feels cheap and the lack of investment is clearly apparent, we actually cut the trip short and left 2 days early. I feel it was a waste of money and effort and will certainly never be back... shame really !!
