点评:We spent 10 days in Hokkaido in May. Most of the hiking trails in the north of the island were still closed so we were looking for something fun to do in the south. We found Di-Maccio glamping through Google maps - and we never looked back. This place was a highlight of the entire Hokkaido trip!
The gallery is quite quirky. I have never heard of Gérard Di-Maccio before we came here. The second building is displaying glass. And all around are sculptures of animals and people, somewhat kitch but that makes it fun. So much creativity in one place!
It is the environment that makes this place unique. It is quite literally in the middle of nowhere, on the foothills of the beatiful Hidakasanmyaku-Erimo-Tokachi National Park. The nature is pristine, no light pollution, birdsong in the morning and frogs in the evening. The glamping pod was very comfortable, with aircon and a separate building with a fridge and a (hot) shower. Plus a barbecue gazebo.
PS: Do not get discourage by the Japanese on the booking form. The manager speaks perfect English.
