点评:Visiting this authentic, organic farm run by three generations of the warm and welcoming Villegas family was a fascinating, delicious, very off-the-beaten-path experience. Calling it a “coffee and chocolate tour” doesn’t begin to describe everything we saw/did/learned/ate/drank during our time at the finca. The tours are interactive, so the coffee and hot chocolate we drank that morning were made from beans that we helped process using traditional Costa Rican methods. (The hot chocolate – which we hand-whipped with a kitchen tool made from a wood branch – was the best I ever tasted.) So much more: the three-toed sloth we saw, awake and moving along a tree branch; the tasty “snack” we were served at the end (more like a light lunch); the gift of a small bag of ground coffee to take home. The finca also has a small souvenir “corner” where we bought more coffee, plus cacao nibs and honey (from the finca’s own beehives) to take home.
