Classic Bait-and-Switch – Hidden Fees, Forced Insurance, and a Terrible Rental Experience

点评：I had an extremely disappointing experience with Europcar in San José, Costa Rica. What appeared to be a reasonably priced reservation turned into a classic bait-and-switch.
When I arrived to pick up the car, I was told I had to pay for additional insurance and several other fees that were never made clear during the booking process. The final price was dramatically higher than the advertised rate. I felt pressured into accepting the charges because I had already arrived, had luggage, and had no practical alternative.
The lack of transparency was unacceptable. The advertised rental price bore little resemblance to what I was actually required to pay. Instead of clearly explaining the mandatory costs upfront, they were presented at the counter after I had committed to the reservation.
If you're renting a car in Costa Rica, read every detail carefully and be prepared for unexpected charges. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location and will not rent from Europcar again.
