A Dream Enduro Adventure in Tusheti
caucasus enduro tours的点评
点评：I had been planning a trip to the Tusheti region for many years, but because I had some concerns about travelling there alone, I could never bring myself to take the first step.
Then, during my research, I discovered Caucasus Enduro Tours and realised that they organised exactly the kind of motorcycle tours I was looking for. I contacted Giorgi and received quick, clear and helpful replies. Despite his busy schedule, he managed to make room for me in mid-July, and we arranged the tour.
I took a direct flight from Türkiye to Tbilisi, and that was where the adventure began. Giorgi picked me up from my hotel, and we travelled to Telavi, our starting point. Telavi is a small town famous for its wine.
I spent the first night in a guesthouse that I remember being called “Panorama.” It was very clean, and the host was extremely kind and attentive. Since carrying bulky equipment such as a helmet and long riding boots would have been difficult, I did not bring them with me. Giorgi provided everything I needed, and all the equipment was clean and in very good condition.
Our motorcycle was a 2016 KTM 450. Do not let the age of the bike mislead you—it was extremely well maintained, powerful and felt almost like a brand-new motorcycle.
On the first day, we crossed the famous Abano Pass under Giorgi’s guidance. The ride was enjoyable, exciting and safe, and we eventually reached the village of Omalo. During the following days, we started our rides from Omalo and visited villages such as Dartlo, Diklo, Shenako and Bochorna.
Throughout these journeys, we rode through snow tunnels, streams, mountain trails and rough roads. Along the way, we encountered horses and horse riders, hikers, cyclists, sheep, shepherd dogs and many other wonderful animals.
We felt the freshness of the green mountains in our souls and the power of the rushing streams in our hearts.
Giorgi is an experienced motorcycle rider and a guide with excellent knowledge of the region and its routes. A support vehicle also follows the group and carries a spare motorcycle, which gives you additional peace of mind during the tour.
This was exactly the tour I had dreamed of. At the end of the trip, I was genuinely happy that I had joined. I fulfilled a long-held dream and experienced an adventure that I will remember for many years.
The price included airport transfers, accommodation, all meals, fuel and guiding services, and I found the overall cost very reasonable.
If you are considering an adventurous motorcycle tour like this, I strongly recommend that you do not miss this experience.
