点评:We'd seen coverage of this art installation on a TV series covering the sites and sounds of Japan, and to be honest were intrigued by the extent to which the host seemed emotionally impacted by what he'd witnessed.
While I can't claim any great transportation, I can see how having the run of this incredible place would be a unique experience, and to be honest one which was only slightly tempered by it being rammed with fellow tourists on a weekend afternoon.
You get no sense of the scale of the venue until you begin exploring the different rooms, corridors and side-bars, each playful, engaging and fascinating in different measure.
Particular rooms (the one with neon globes comes to mind) can seem too full with people, but this being Japan, everything is very orderly and civilised.
Taken as a whole, the experience is extraordinary - flights of birds and butterflies, processions of frog and rabbits and lots of abstract shapes and experiences dragging you from one space to another.
There's probably a danger of sensory overload (and I'd suggest it's not the right place for very small children), but taken in moderation, it was a revelation.
