Winamp Visualisations, Now With an Admission Fee
Teamlab Borderless Tokyo的点评
点评：I'm not entirely sure I understand the point of teamLab Borderless.
Most of the experience consists of projectors displaying animated drawings on walls. Sometimes the drawings move onto other walls. Occasionally they move onto the floor. This appears to be a significant part of the experience.
There are also a few rooms with lights hanging from the ceiling, which provides a welcome break from looking at projected images on walls.
If you remember the Winamp visualisations from the 90s and ever wondered what it would be like to physically stand inside one, then congratulations, technology has finally caught up with your ambitions.
I was expecting something more along the lines of Infinity on the Gold Coast or Dopamine Land, with interesting physical installations, optical illusions and genuinely immersive environments. Instead, I spent most of my time looking at walls, an activity I've previously managed to enjoy without purchasing a ticket.
At one point, I found myself watching some flowers slowly appear and disappear on a wall. I assume there was a deeper artistic meaning to this, but unfortunately it was lost on me. They were certainly flowers.
To be fair, the projectors are excellent. The resolution is impressive, the colours are vibrant, and they've clearly invested considerable money in ensuring there isn't a single wall left doing what walls traditionally do.
I suspect the experience is considerably more rewarding if you enjoy taking photographs of yourself standing in front of things.
Clearly lots of people love it, and I'm pleased they've found something that brings them joy.
Personally, I came away feeling that I'd just paid to visit an extremely elaborate screensaver.
Three stars. One for the projectors, one for the lights, and one for the confidence required to charge admission.
