Bath and West Show, an Event for Local People at Local Prices ............. think again.
Royal Bath and West of England Society Showground的点评
点评:I don't have a problem with the admission fees but most 'barista' coffee stalls were charging £4.50 for a simple flat white coffee. A tiny bowl of Mac n Cheese cost £9.00, a small bottle of water £3.00. If you decided to get insoles for high arches, after a free 'diagnosis' you would be charged £150. I adore dogs and although there were exhibition canines, there were only about six different breeds. A sort of half hearted nod to dogs, who serve us with so many talents, I think the Bath and West Show needs to decide whether they are supporting farmers to have meaningful conversations about the current issues with farming, agriculture, food production and land management, or not. A few 'talks' about the issues facing farming and the work they do, including their history would have been so informative. The alternative will be to continue to host many, many stalls with no real relevance to true rural life in beautiful Somerset and the people who live here on traditionally low wages. The site was not busy today and the carparks nearly empty. The carpark signage is non existent. I was 'purple' and there were no signs coming back to a car ... only coming into the site. I sincerely hope that this event does not just serve those who can afford the entrance fee and then pay for overpriced food/drinks and some stalls.
