点评：Before the Barrel is located on Route 8 at 8651 Wattsburg Road, Erie, Pa (the old Boardwalk Tavern building) just a few minutes south of I-90. I am not a fan of moonshine, most I have had in the past tasted like strong alcohol. Several of the moonshine flavors at Before The Barrel Distillery are delicious and I enjoy just sipping them. They have now added a food menu with a good selection of foods that are made fresh there. They also have assorted beers and wines. We stopped and the place was empty. They have great food and drinks and can’t believe they were not packed. It is definitely worth trying. The owner is always there and very friendly. I am sure they would allow book clubs or card parties to uses the dining room and enjoy their food and drinks. If you’re thinking I know these people, I don’t but I see a diamond in the rough and enjoy their products so I hope they stay in business. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed. Good for a family, couples etc. Not a bar type environment.
