点评:It seems harsh to give this superb museum – or rather a set of five museums – just three stars out of five. But it seems to conveniently miss a vital point. Whereas it has superb displays explaining the immense achievements and entrepreneurial skill of William Cody, it seems to ignore the role he had in the elimination of both bison and Native Americans. To be fair, this was something he is said to have regretted to an extent later in his life, and he was - it could be argued - merely going along with the requirements of the US government of the time. But it is a shame that the one part of the museum dedicated to Plains Indians makes no reference to the fact that William Cody – Buffalo Bill – was a key character in the elimination of their livelihoods and their lives. He boasted that he had killed more than 4000 bison, and the effect of removing the food supplies of the Native Americans who lived there is undeniable. The museum needs to make this link even if it does not make a judgement on history.
