Great Museum but Entrance for the Disabled is a bit Tricky!

点评：Outstanding museum. MOH recipients are well presented with an amazing number of personal effects on display for each. Great educational stop for children and young adults; actually great for anyone, even those without an interest in the military. As an old veteran of the US Army I thoroughly enjoyed my visit as did my wife.
Great cafe on the first floor past the gift shop. However, the on-line menu only shows a small portion of the food available including fresh cookies baked daily. Food was outstanding and quite inexpensive given the setting (a museum).
Also has a great staff. Everyone from the front desk to the cafe to the outstanding tour guide we had (spend the money and take the personal tour)! Thanks to all who welcomed us.
My only negative is the poor entry for disabled persons. Big miss here by the architects! The steep pedestrian ramp leading from the public parking lot up to what appears to be the museum entrance is followed immediately by many steps leading down to the actual entrance. Combined, these are a real bear for the elderly and disabled to manage.
The only true “handicapped entrance” is via the loading dock door directly across from handicapped parking. There is a sign near the overhead dock door that provides a phone number to call if you need assistance entering via the dock. However, the sign is poorly placed and insufficiently marked to readily see it upon arrival. I missed it and had a tough time navigating in. Management needs to correct this with better signage and improved notices on the museum website.
In spite of that I highly recommend.
