点评：A beautiful park with majestic mountains. There are parts of this park that look like Switzerland. It's unfortunate that there aren't more roads into the park to see the mountains and valleys. We visited Kennecott and stayed in the lodge there. We used the shuttle to get to McCarthy. If you are considering this route to see the park, I would suggest the following.
If you want to see the scenery and visit the old mill and the town you can do this in one day using the Kennicott Shuttle, LLC service. This will allow about 4 to 5 hours to see the town, the mill ruins, and have lunch.
If you want to hike to Root Glacier, or any of the other trails, you should consider staying a night at Kennicott Glacier Lodge.
The shuttle ride into the park let's you see the park but it takes a couple of hours to get there. Several older (60+) tourists we met did it all in one day and said it was too much time in the shuttle van. They wished they would have stayed a night at the lodge.
