Great place, but BRING EARPLUGS AND A SLEEP MASK

点评：Last week, my wife and I sought to enjoy another relaxing, stress-relieving couple of nights at Oregon Garden Resort. We both needed it – our retail business saw one of the worst holiday seasons yet and we lost a dear pet a few weeks ago. So we packed up our remaining pooch and headed to dog-friendly OGR in Silverton to clear ALL of our heads.
The grounds are lovely (even in winter!), staff was personable and accommodating, the meals were excellent and my wife enjoyed “the best massage of my life”! The pub offered a great place to end the day, with excellent ales and live music.
We hiked all over with our pup and it helped us all to heal… some.
The only drawback was in the room. Except for the pillows, it was very nicely appointed, but they have this wonky heating system involving a gas fireplace and a wall heater/ac unit that defies logic, (and I am a retired engineering professor!) We simply could not get the room to a comfortable temperature- day or night. The hotel staff dispatched service techs twice, but the system defied them too. The room temperature hovered around 64° - too cold for these old codgers. And when the system did choose to comply and kick on at 2am, the noise of the wall fan and the flickering if the fireplace made sleep nearly impossible. We returned home exhausted, and needed the next day to recover.
So… will we return to OGR? Probably. But absolutely NOT in winter!

唯一的不足之处在于房间。除了枕头之外，房间的布置非常精致，但他们的供暖系统却很奇怪，既有燃气壁炉，又有壁挂式冷暖一体机，简直匪夷所思（我可是个退休的工程学教授！）。无论白天还是晚上，我们都无法把房间的温度调到舒适的程度。酒店工作人员派了两次维修人员上门，但系统依然不听使唤。房间温度徘徊在64华氏度左右——对我们这些老家伙来说太冷了。凌晨两点，系统终于启动了，但壁扇的噪音和壁炉的闪烁让我们几乎无法入睡。我们筋疲力尽地回到家，需要休息一天才能恢复。
所以……我们会再来OGR吗？也许会吧。但绝对不会在冬天！
