点评：Saturday 23 November 2024, we took the 10km Bokmakierie walking trail. My female friend could not walk any longer. I needed someone to come rescue us. The numbers online were all not accessible. 10111 refused to assist as they say the numbers are only for police and ambulance emergencies and we must call the Heidelberg police services ourselves as the place we have visited should have emergency numbers for their visitors. On our way back we even saw a deathplace where someone from Johannesburg hiking club passed on and that made us panic even more. By Gods grace we managed to be back at the camp base by 20pm.The security guards could not even care less as to why we only came back the time we did. The management of Suikerbosrand nature reserve, surely you can do better for us hiking lovers. The entrance fee is sufficient to assist professionally manage the place. We could be headlines in news as "two ladies die on their hiking adventure at Suikerbosrand nature reserve" I'm extremely disappointed. My friend is so traumatized she had to see a psychologist today. Hoping something will be done as the place is very beautiful but lacks a lot of care and consistent maintenance. i Guess we will still to "The Cheetah Trail" and know were safe as hiking is in our blood. Please take care of the place, it's beautiful just needs love and care.
