点评:There is a lot to see at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyards – more than what one can easily do in one day (especially if you have children with you).
Thanks to a Blue Peter badge we got free child entry – we brought the annual ticket as we knew we could not see everything in a day – as it was, we did manage 4 attractions on first day: HMS Victory, Mary Rose, HMS M.33 and we did the harbour tour. For morning coffee, and then lunch, we visited the Mary Rose Café.
On day two we saw HMS Warrior which was so much better than expected with a re-enactors and things to see.
We are now planning a third visit to see some of the inside exhibits and to re-do the harbour tour as neither of the aircraft carriers were in port when we visited but, even without the aircraft carriers, the harbour tour was still well worth doing. We also need to find the time to get the waterbus (to the opposite side of the harbour) to visit submarine HMS Alliance and the Naval Firepower museum.
Queues to get in varied from quite long to none across our visits, even when arriving at the same time of day.
