Excellent tour of the house

点评：Being NT members we parked in the car park at the far end of the grounds and walked up to the house. This took about 30 mins at a leisurely pace. Our tour was with David and there were only three of us in the group. David was clearly knowledgeable about the estate and his commentary was informed, engaging and entertaining. The tour took about 50 mins to complete and covered a wide range of rooms. It was so refreshing to see some of the rooms (library & dining) being used as they were intended by school staff and subcontractors. This elevated our experience of the house into how in would have looked when it was bustling and lived in, rather than a staid mausoleum to the past. The talking figures in the museum were also a novel way to impart information of the history and previous occupants of the house. Would highly recommend.
