Visit to Hall Compromised by Guided Tour

点评：There is no doubting that this is a wonderful historic home. But the visit to the Hall is frustratingly compromised by the required guided tour.
While clearly knowledgeable, our tour guide gave us a commentary chock-a-block full of detail (too much, frankly) at a rather breakneck speed that was difficult to absorb or maintain interest.
As soon as our attention was drawn to one item or object we were being directed to look at something else, seconds later. There was no pause or let-up. No opportunity to look at anything on our own. We were led from room to room with no stop. She even began the commentary on certain rooms before we entered them.
Indeed, crucially, the tour guide at no point invited us to ask questions which, based on my experience of other guided house tours elsewhere, was very unusual.
It all felt very rushed, fixed to her agenda, designed to be completed as quickly as possible within an hour, and quite unsatisfying and overwhelming.
As much as we loved the house, the tour was one of the worst-adapted to visitors that we have encountered.
We tried to provide feedback by email. No-one responded.
