点评:What a beautiful state campground and lake. We went over 4th of July weekend and most every site was booked. We were on the north end on a site directly on the lake. It could not have been better. We were able to put our kayak into the lake directly from our site and we spent a lot of time floating in the lake.
We camped in our 30' travel trailer. There were two potable water spigots at the dump station so we were able to fill our fresh water tank and extra jugs on our way to our site. Others comments about there being spigots at the rest room, but these are only good for filling a small jug (low to the ground and no hose connection). So if you have an RV, definitely stop at the dump station on your way in!
The sites here are impressively large with good space between sites. We easily fit our camper, a screen house, and an additional tent with room to spare. The sites have a large picnic table and fire ring with a grate. Most sites are fairly level (ours had a gentle grade to it but there was a flat concrete pad and flat areas within the site. No complaints though since we were directly on the water. Sites 101-108 are right on the lake with direct access. There is a small "campers beach" next to site 109 (site 109 is designated as a management site although no one was on the site while we were there).
All sites will easily accommodate multiple tents and most will accommodate pop-up or small campers. This is mostly what we saw. There were only a couple "larger" campers such as ours (30') since there are a few sites that would be hard to navigate and there are some tighter turns in the road in the campground that we just had to take carefully. But that is because these are wooded sites with lots of trees and shade which was great when it was 100 degrees out!
The bathrooms are functional. They are old and concrete but staff kept them clean. The ladies room had two toilet stalls, two sinks, and one shower stall. I did not use the shower so can't comment on that.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and I appreciate that they had a presence on the busy 4th of July weekend (even saw the Winchendon PD drive through a few times). There were no issues and everyone was pretty much left alone, but good to know they were there if there were any issues.
The lake was gorgeous and overall the campground was peaceful. Generators are allowed outside of quiet hours and unfortunately we had a couple neighbors who ran theirs constantly between 7am-10pm. Most campers though only used them as needed for short periods of time.
Highly recommend this campground and will definitely go back again!
