点评:Recently had a 7 night stay on this magical eco island. Staff member, Alick picked us up from the airport, 20 mins drive to a waiting boat, 15 mins to the island & landed in paradise.
This is a bare foot island!! Your feet will get wet getting on & off the boat so don’t wear shoes. That’s what we loved about our stay. Very laid back & relaxing.
We were greeted by quite a few of the staff members upon arrival & given an orientation of the island by Steff & Risu & then we settled in to a week of eating, relaxing & plenty of water activities. (& the occasional ice cold beer or 2).
As it is a small remote island with only 6 bungalows, staff ask that you plan ahead for the day with your meals if possible so that they can cater for any special requests.
My wife is gluten & dairy intolerant so we let them know prior to our arrival to give them time to source ingredients for her meals.
The island has a garden with herbs, fruits & vegetables freshly picked every day & chooks for fresh eggs.
All meals for our stay were amazing with a good variety & reasonably priced.
Fresh local seasonal produce used so sometimes certain meals may not be available on the menu. Traditional local Dinner served on the beach & fire show was an added bonus.
Arlet & Lyn (chefs) went above & beyond to cater for my wife’s food intolerances.
The island is kept very neat & tidy without spoiling it’s natural charm.
All bungalows are water front (about 5m from the high tide water mark) with air con & fan, bar fridge, comfortable queen bed, gas hot water & good water pressure. Each bungalow has its own water tank.
Tip - take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the waves crashing next to the bungalows can keep you awake until you get used to it.
Great snorkelling with a colourful reef around the island, abundant marine life & waves for the experience surfer. Coral reef may stop the beginner!!
Plenty of activities including visits to uninhabited islands, dugong & turtle experience, snorkelling & diving tours & trips to Santo to see magical spots such as Port Olry, Champagne Beach, Million Dollar Point (snorkel around WW2 wrecks) & visits to Nanda & Matevulu Blue Holes. Island staff take you on all of the tours so you have a familiar face on your tour & a guarantee that you’ll get back to the island with no issues.
Island managers, David & Steff were incredible with their easy going, flexible attitude where nothing was too much trouble.
If you are looking for 5 star luxury with formal dress for dinner, this may not be the place for you but if you want a relaxing laid back holiday where you can do as little or as much as you like, this is the place for you.
The natural beauty of Dany & surrounding islands, Santo & its attractions & its people are what makes Vanuatu a must see destination.
We had a fantastic holiday & will be going back in the future.
