One of the Highlights of Our Rhine Cruise

点评：If you are visiting the German Rhineland on a cruise, you will likely have the opportunity to tour this medieval castle that was never conquered. It also is one of the few historic structures in Germany to survive WWII without damage. Take advantage of that opportunity because it is one of the premier tours of the cruise. The members of our family and friends that visited this castle all rated it as one of the best attractions of the cruise. Whereas the members who took another tour that day did not enjoy their time, so tour this castle.
It is one of about 30 castles you will see as you cruise the Rhine gorge which is the highlight of any Rhine cruise. Again, this is also one of the only two that was not destroyed and the only one never conquered. It was built in 1117 on the top of a mountain overlooking the Rhine River with a commanding view. In fact, the views are one of the reasons to visit. The other is the structure offers you a rare opportunity to see how people lived in medieval Germany. From its defensive measures to its garden, great hall, chapel, and even one of the first indoor restrooms, it is an insight into medieval life. In addition to great sights, the tour is operated by current owners, and they do an amazing job of telling the stories during your visit.
We did a lot of things and visited a lot of attractions on our cruise, but for those who visited, this is always near or at the top of their favorite things. Therefore, I highly recommend you take the time to visit.
