点评:States the only traditional market in gozo on the sign outside. Kept passing this whilst on the bus to and fro from xlendi where we staying. Lovely indoor market, selling souvenir clothing and the usual thing, then some lace products. The main part was food and drink related artisan products. Some you can find elsewhere but a lot of locally made products of jams, preserves, herbs, salt, spreads, gozotian cheese, different honeys, liquids of varying maltese flavours. Some baked goods like the date and fig filled pastries, biscuits nougat, halwa, savouries, crackers, olive oils, wine, and probably more I haven't remembered to list. A souvenir and jewellery shop next door. Lots of products in 1 place. Great for the gifts and produce we wanted to take home. Choice was much more varied than in the shops we'd seen in the towns.
I asked about the hrs as id seen different answers on the Web. Nothing I could find on the Google reviews. Not an exact time but 9 till 4 is was the answer. When we have passed at varying times the hrs didn't match this so sorry I can't give exact hrs. Well worth a visit for the varied products. They have tasting out for the jams, preserves, spread etc, some with crackers to try with or disposable wooden sticks or cocktail sticks for the nougat. This helped when choosing between the flavours. I haven't had some of the flavours before so nice to know that I would not end up, like I have in the past, getting it home and finding out people or myself dont like it.
Easy to get to on the bus 330, short walk from stop on 306. Bus stop right outside said 330 and 306 but Tallinja app and Google did not appear to have 306 as a stop there? We ended up using 306 as was pushed for time and it was a pleasant short walk down neighbouring street.
Forgot to say they take cash and card, pack in paper bags for you also. Staff helpful and pleasant. Wasn't busy when we went, plenty of room if tourist bus would to land here.
