点评:It's a long windy mountain road back to the Dwellings but it was worth the drive. Along the way we saw deer, elk, and a porcupine. Once at the park we saw javelina. We stopped and visited the visitor center. There are some artifacts and a short film. Volunteer staff was friendly, restroom was clean. We then drove back to the parking lot for the trailhead. A volunteer greeted us and went over rules, gave us tips, offered hiking poles, and we were on our way. The hike up to the dwellings climbs a few hundred feet in elevation and includes A LOT of steps. It's a pretty walk through trees and back and forth over some bridges. Once at the dwellings you are able to go into the dwellings to see the ruins up close. There are a couple of short optional ladders to see on some of the rooms and some remnants of corn from the inhabitants. We climbed a ladder down and followed the trail to the parking lot. It's a little over a mile loop. We enjoyed the trip.
